Juniors The Oxted Hockey Club Junior set up has grown from small beginnings and is now a thriving section of the club.
We have around 150 juniors of all ages and abilities and they are coached weekly at Oxted School.
The aim is that everyone should get a chance to learn the game in a safe environment under the guidance of qualified coaches.
We also look to develop those with the talent to go further and in recent years two Oxted juniors have gone onto represent England Under 18s - Mike Trim and Lorne Barnard - and many others have represented county and regional sides.
In addition the junior section has produced a number of players who are now playing for the clubs senior sides, including several in the Mens National League squad.
Our U14 and U16 boys and girls sides play in the Mercian leagues plus local friendly fixtures while our U12 (boys and girls), U10 (boys and girls) and U8 mixed play a series of triangular fixtures over the season.
Last year our boys U12 side were beaten finalists in the Surrey U12 tournament and our U10 mixed side were beaten finalists in the Surrey U10 mixed tournament. So you can see how the juniors are progressing.
We also run a boys development side which plays in the Sussex Development League on Saturdays. We have won this league in the past and are always in the top two or three teams consistently since we joined this league.
